The Challenge
Archbishop Moeller High School has formed young men in the Catholic Marianist tradition for more than sixty years. Sustaining that mission across changing generations has required the school to address new priorities without losing sight of its identity.
Rather than approaching planning or fundraising as isolated projects, Moeller needed a long-term partner that could help the school prepare for each new horizon—from strategic direction and campaign growth to a comprehensive Catholic school strategic growth plan for 2026–2030.
The Approach
Across decades, Moeller has engaged ISPD four times: for a first strategic plan, a second strategic plan, a capital campaign conducted through the COVID years, and its current Strategic Growth Plan.
The newest plan was developed through an external ISPD Assessment, the Ultimate Question Satisfaction Survey, an Executive Committee, a Steering Committee, twelve Planning Area Teams, and a school-wide Convocation.
That work produced four strategic domains—Mission and Catholic Identity, Governance and Leadership, Academic Excellence, and Operational Vitality—along with twelve Planning Areas and 33 challenges. Every participating constituency helped identify the top ten priorities for the first year.
The Results
Moeller’s prior capital campaign closed $7 million above goal despite being conducted through the COVID years. The new Strategic Growth Plan is now in implementation, with teams and chairs identified and active work beginning on priorities including a Five-Year Site Master Plan, faith formation throughout student life, and a sophisticated planned giving program. Stakeholders will receive progress reports every six months to build transparency and ownership.

The Lesson
The strongest consulting relationships are not defined by a single engagement. They grow as an institution reaches each new horizon and returns to a trusted process for the clarity, participation, and accountability required to move forward.
