It is really not — and the distinction is not semantic. The fastest way to kill stewardship in a parish is to call it a campaign and measure it by dollars raised.
Offertory does grow, consistently, in parishes that do this well. But it grows because people’s relationship with what they have been given has changed, not because they were asked more effectively. Reverse that order and you get neither the conversion nor the money.
